CASE STUDY / MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION

Three years of stalled momentum, unlocked in three months.

SITUATION

The Calgary Chamber of Commerce is one of Alberta's most influential business advocacy organizations, representing thousands of members across the province. Like many established membership organizations, the Chamber had accumulated a layered technology stack over time, with systems that had been added reactively rather than designed intentionally, and vendor relationships that had been inherited rather than chosen.

CHALLENGE

The Chamber's leadership team needed to modernize their technology to better serve members, but no one on the team had a complete picture of the current environment or a clear path forward. Multiple transformation attempts over the prior three years had lost momentum.

APPROACH

Dream

We aligned the leadership team around the member experience outcomes the technology needed to support, not the other way around.

Discover

We ran a full Discovery Sprint, interviewing stakeholders across the organization, auditing systems and contracts, and mapping the current state against the strategic direction.

Decide.

We produced a prioritized roadmap with clear sequencing, so the leadership team could make confident investment decisions rather than chase every possibility at once.

Deliver

We continued on a fractional basis to keep momentum, hold vendors accountable, and ensure decisions turned into completed work.

RESULTS

Within the first three months of engagement, the Chamber moved further on its technology agenda than it had in the previous three years. Key outcomes included a leadership team aligned on priorities, a sequenced 18-month roadmap, and renegotiated vendor terms that produced measurable savings.

I feel like we accomplished more together in the first three months than we did in the last three years.
