01 / ASSESSMENT
Discovery Sprint: see your technology clearly.
A structured 2-to-4-week assessment that gives your leadership team a clear, unbiased picture of where you stand and what to do next.
What is a Discovery Sprint?
A Discovery Sprint is a structured 2-to-4-week assessment of your organization's technology landscape, vendor relationships, and decision-making readiness. It gives your leadership team a clear, unbiased picture of where you stand and what to do next.
Most mid-market organizations reach a point where their technology has evolved faster than their ability to manage it. Systems were added reactively. Vendor relationships were inherited rather than chosen. Nobody on the leadership team has a complete picture of what the organization is paying for, what is working, and what is holding the business back. The Discovery Sprint fixes that. We interview your stakeholders, audit your systems, assess your vendor relationships, and deliver a written findings report with prioritized recommendations your leadership team can act on immediately.
Who is a Discovery Sprint for?
The Discovery Sprint is designed for mid-market organizations that know something needs to change but are not sure where to start or who to trust. Common scenarios:
- A new CTO or VP of Technology inheriting a legacy technology stack with no documentation.
- A leadership team preparing for a technology transformation but lacking clarity on the current state.
- An organization approaching vendor contract renewals and wanting an independent assessment before re-signing.
- A board or executive team that suspects the organization is overspending on technology but has no evidence to confirm it.
What do you get at the end?
Every Discovery Sprint delivers three tangible outputs. First, a written findings report with prioritized recommendations, organized by impact and urgency, that your leadership team can use as a decision-making guide for the next 12 to 18 months. Second, a technology roadmap or vendor scorecard that maps your current state against your business objectives and highlights the gaps. Third, a leadership team presentation where we walk your executives through the findings, answer questions, and facilitate the conversation about next steps.
How does it work?
The Discovery Sprint follows the Dream and Discover phases of our framework.
- Week 1. Stakeholder interviews across your leadership team and key technology users to understand business objectives, technology pain points, and vendor relationships.
- Week 2. Audit your current technology systems, contracts, and vendor agreements, assessing what is working, what is redundant, and where the risks are.
- Week 3. Synthesize findings into the written report, roadmap, and recommendations.
- Week 4. Present findings to your leadership team and facilitate the discussion about next steps.
Most Discovery Sprints complete in 2 to 3 weeks. Complex environments with multiple locations or vendor ecosystems may extend to 4 weeks. These are brief by design and these limited sprints ensure the team is focused on the highest priority wins and initiatives to tackle.
How much does a Discovery Sprint cost?
Discovery Sprints range from $15,000 to $25,000 depending on the scope and complexity of your environment. The primary factors that influence pricing are the number of stakeholders we interview, the number of vendor relationships and systems we assess, and the geographic spread of your operations. We provide a fixed-fee quote after an initial discovery call so there are no surprises.
